Research Interests

Photosynthetic organisms, such as plants and algae, are living machines that convert CO2 and sun light into practically everything that supports life on Earth. From the food we eat to the oxygen we breathe; while ancient deposits of photosynthetic organisms provide us with oil for power, transportation and plastics. The syn-bio tools we develop in the SSB lab will support greater use of these organisms in new green industries.
