Biography

Originally from France, Georges acquired web and software development skills at an early age and worked as a freelance developer for a number of years. He went back to his studies and graduated from a Bachelor in Biotechnology from the University Paris-Saclay. Possessing a strong interest in synthetic biology, he participated in the international competition iGEM for 3 years; his team and him received numerous awards for their work on continuous protein directed evolution, and optogenetics.

In 2024 he joined the KAUST SSB team as a VSRP student as part of his Systems and Synthetic Biology Master 2 degree internship, with the ambition of pursuing a PhD in the same team later-on.

Research Interests

To develop an AI driven multifunctional and high-throughput laboratory automation platform, based on digital microfluidics and nanofabrication technologies.

Awards

International Synthetic Biology competition iGEM, participated 3 times from 2021 to 2023, won 3 Gold Medals, and received the Best Hardware award as part of iGEM Evry-Paris-Saclay 2023 for his work on microfluidic lab automation.
