Biography

Anne is a visiting student at KAUST, working with Dr. Kaian Teles in the Sustainable and Synthetic Biotechnology Group led by Dr. Kyle Lauersen. Her home university is Michigan State University (MSU) in the United States, where she is a PhD candidate advised by Dr. Berkley Walker and Dr. Yair Shachar-Hill.

Research Interests

Her thesis research at MSU uses various physiological, molecular, biochemical, computational, and microscopy techniques to explore how the extremophile alga Cyanidioschyzon merolae can perform efficient photosynthesis under challenging growth conditions. At KAUST, she is working on bioengineering in C. merolae, and is excited to learn new biotechnology skills.
