Biography

Alejandra joined the SSB lab in 2020 to bioprospect Red Sea seaweed, find metabolites with anti-methanogenic potential, and establish cultivation methods for seaweed. Research focuses on finding natural solutions to mitigate anthropogenic impacts. Experience includes working with a variety of organisms (plants, corals, fish, turtles, etc.) and covering aspects from biodiversity monitoring and restoration, to metabolomics and metagenomics.
