4th International C. merolae Conference was held from July 27-28th in UBC Vancouver.

Organized by Profs Naomi Fast, Stephen Rader, Kyle Lauersen, the event involved talks from an international community of researchers involved in Cyanidiophyceae biology and biotechnology research. Drs Kaian Teles and Gordon Wellman visited from KAUST as well as SSB Lab alumna Dr Melany Villegas Valencia.
