Today, SSB group member Malak Abdallah successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled: "Engineering the green microalga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii for applications in heterologous product generation and probing subcellular pools of isoprenoid precursors", as the second PhD graduate of the SSB group.

Malak presented the results of her PhD research, carried out over the last five years at KAUST, to committee members Prof. Pascal Saikaly, Prof. Fabian Schmidt, and external examiner Prof. Claire Remacle from the University of Liège.
