Luis Emilio Vallarino Godínez

Directed Research Student (MS)

Biography

Luis is from Mexico. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biotechnology at Arkansas State University Campus Querétaro, a dual-degree program between Mexico and the USA, graduating magna cum laude in 2022. His undergraduate research centered on the genetic transformation of E. coli and the synthesis, isolation, and purification of recombinant sfGFP by triphasic partitioning. He was also a member of the "Crimson Wolves" team in the iGEM Design League 2022 competition, where he led the research for a theoretical project on detecting colorectal cancer biomarkers through recombinant probiotics; focusing on the in silico design of genetic circuits and fluorescent reporter proteins, earning the team a Bronze Medal.

Research Interests

Genetic engineering, biotechnology, bioengineering, synthetic biology, recombinant organisms, and epigenetics.

Education
