Biography

Keirsten Allen is a PhD candidate at Arizona State University studying the genetic engineering of extremophilic microalgae for sustainable biotechnology. Her research explores photobiological hydrogen production, wastewater resource recovery, and genetic tools for red microalgae. As a visiting researcher at KAUST, she is excited to learn from new perspectives, collaborate with researchers from around the world, and explore the potential of these remarkable organisms.
